Yearling Spotlight: Century Spring Farms
Established in 1851 - the Zimmerman’s took ownership of the farm in 1868.
The London Classic Yearling Sale team recently paid a visit to the picturesque property of Century Spring Farms, in Northern Huron Country - about a 90-minute drive north of London. The farm has been owned and operated by the Zimmerman family for many decades and what was once a dairy farm and standardbred breeding operation became a hands-on commercial broodmare facility, in 2005, for the husband and wife team of Sanford and Jan Zimmerman.
Beauty is all around, for the horses, at Century Spring Farms.
It would be a warm welcome and wonderful tour of Century Spring Farms - courtesy of the Zimmerman’s - this past week for LCYS Manager Greg Blanchard and Raceway announcer Sugar Doyle. The ‘Century’ labelled horses have been doing it well, all over, for years and next month we’ll see six more ‘Century’ yearlings go through the ring, in London, plus one more addition - as they’ll be the agent for a first crop King Of The North filly to complete their consignment of seven. Century Spring Farms led all consignors, in 2024, with an average yearling sale price of $50,666 - with Seelster Farms and Princeton farms rounding out the top three.
