Members of the London Classic Yearling Sale team recently had the pleasure of touring Tara Hills Stud Ltd - near Port Perry, Ontario - home of many of the sport’s big name sires including Muscle Mass, Cattlewash and Green Manalishi S.

King Of The North offers up a ‘meet and greet’ with LCYS Manager Greg Blanchard.

The first crop from King Of The North have made it to the races this summer and early showings, from his progeny, have the fillies Major Contender t2, 1:54.4s ($66,008), Queen Of BS t2, 1:55.1s ($61,850) and Treasure King t2, 1:55.2s ($61,134) doing well in Ontario Sires Stakes action. Twin B Kingsley, a $55,000 LCYS purchase last Fall, was a recent OSS Grassroots winner, for trainer Scott McEneney, taking a new mark of 1:55.3 with Trevor Henry aboard.

Touching on a few yearlings selling for Tara Hills, this Fall in London, there’s a striking King Of The North filly in TH Queen Oftrix that certainly caught the eye of our team and she’s one that Farm Manager Matt Harrison has very high hopes for as well.

TH Queen Oftrix is the third foal from One Trix Pony and a sibling to the Muscle Mass filly TH Trix R Forkids t3, 1:53s ($143,003) - winner of the Harvest Series Final, in 1:57.2, at 2 and then an Ontario Sires Stakes Gold event winner and runner-up finisher in the Grade 3 Casual Breeze (race-timed in 1:52.4) at 3.

T H All That (Cattlewash-Future Headlines-Sportswriter) is the sixth foal and a filly from Future Headlines p4, 1:51.2f ($241,725) who has produced T H Tyson (Captain Crunch) p4, 1:50m ($233,599) and TH Sandra Dee p4, 1:51.1f ($149,389).

Vern, selling this Fall for Dewitt Stables, is a King Of The North colt from the good producing mare A Sundae On Sundae - the dam of Sweet Soul David t7, 1:54f ($503,533), Sweet Detrmination t3, 1:56.1s ($233,328) and Hot Fudge Sundae t5, 1:57.1f ($194,139).

Muscle Mass, at age 21. is still a kingpin Ontario Sire and there may be no other stallion, in the business of harness racing, that stamps them like he does.
